We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join our Highways team in Oldbury. Reporting to the Highways Framework Manager, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to manage a team effectively.
Experience Required:

- Assist in managing sites to achieve financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets.
- Pre-start planning and liaison with estimators.
- Managing of site staff, operatives, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Assist in the development of PSHEQP, method statements, risk assessments.
- Accepting orders and instructions from clients and issuing to the supply chain.
- Liaising and meeting with clients, consulting engineers, surveyor, sub-contractors.
- Ensure company SHEQ procedures are complied with.
- Assist in the planning, programming, and resourcing of site activities.
- Maintain accurate site records.
- Implement the company's quality procedures.
- Upkeep and maintenance of site files and other records.
- Raising materials, plant & PPE requisitions for hire/purchase.
- Providing accurate information to Project/Contracts Managers for regional monthly contract appraisals and other reports.
- Assist with budgeting, monitoring and control of site costs.
- Assisting in identifying, evaluating, and managing claims and variations.
- Liaising with Group Services Manager to assist with managing site vehicles.
- Negotiating Plant-Hire, delivery rates & temporary welfare requirements with suppliers.
- Maintain Plant Asset Register, Plant Log, Pat Testing, Servicing, Repairs & Replacements of all Site Plant.
- Arranging deliveries,collections & lift plans with haulage companies for all Site Plant
- Liasing with Project & Contracts Managers to assist in Site Set-Ups & identifying plant equipment needs.
- Conducting market research on 'green' plant equipment & innovations.
- Updating plant hire-out rates sheet and calculating 'payback' periods.
- Maintaining photographic record of site activities.

- BSc Civils Degree or equivalent experience
- CSCS card essential
- Proven history of project completion
- Excellent time management and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal communication
- Good initiative and logical thinking
- Full driving licence essential
