CRL continued their support of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s Sherbourne Valley Project as part of National Highways’ Volunteer Day programme with the Trust. Following on from the path building event in August, CRL attended two more events in Coventry during October.

The first day saw CRL return to Lake View Park to improve wildlife habitat and accessibility in the Grey’s Wood Nature Reserve area of the park. Tasks included cutting back vegetation to improve access, working to improve the light/shade regime to encourage wildflower growth in the spring and clearing vegetation to allow trees to grow unhindered.

The second day involved improving the grounds at Allesley Scout Hut in North West Coventry. CRL helped to remove invasive species, clear vegetation and make the area safer and more child friendly for various activities.
