Concrete Repairs Limited (CRL) successfully delivered the £6m refurbishment of the 60-year-old River Dane Bridge, carrying the M6 motorway between Junctions 18 and 19 in Cheshire. Working on behalf of National Highways, CRL undertook major concrete repairs while keeping this critical route open to traffic.

Through early contractor involvement, innovative temporary works, hydro-demolition, and the installation of impressed current cathodic protection, the scheme restored structural integrity and extended the bridge’s design life by at least 50 years. Collaborative delivery enabled abnormal load restrictions to be lifted months early, minimising disruption and delivering significant carbon savings.
