CRL undertook a complex refurbishment of the Grade II* listed Berw Road Bridge, locally known as the White Bridge, in Pontypridd, South Wales. The project involved detailed structural surveys, careful removal and replacement of gunite cladding, reinforcement repairs, and the application of anti-carbonation coatings, extending the bridge’s design life by 50–60 years.

Working closely with Cadw and the local council, CRL developed bespoke access and repair solutions to protect the historic fabric while maintaining structural integrity. The works also included scour protection, deck improvements, and parapet restoration, successfully safeguarding the bridge against severe weather events and preserving its heritage for future generations.
