Bristol goes underground in Oxfordshire

The team at Bristol started the New Year by removing approximately 11 M3 of silt from 45 meters of a culvert which was only 600-950mm high.
Following this, the culvert arch was prepared to receive a spray applied concrete strengthening liner 150mm thick to prevent any further collapse of the stone built culvert.
This involved installing 316 stainless steel mesh reinforcement prior to the application of the Tarmac Cemrok 30 sprayed concrete with polypropylene fibres.
The regional spray gang  progressed well through the culvert achieving at least 3 metres per day. Other works included repairs to collapsed stonework and re-pointing of stonework in the culvert where necessary.
This is certainly a challenging project that few would get into and the client was well pleased with the way the works were carried out as well as the end result!
