Looking after our People
Our colleagues are the most important part of our business and we go the extra mile to look after them. Whether that is by providing training and development opportunities, or helping our colleagues care for their mental and physical health, or ensuring that all of our colleagues feel valued and safe at work.
This commitment includes our current colleagues, but also our prospective and future colleagues. We are a workplace where all are welcome and where individuals can grow and thrive.
All our employees and their families have free access to the Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme. Health Assured is an independent health and wellbeing provider that offers support for a range of health and wellbeing issues.
Employment and Training
CRL wants to help people develop their careers by giving them life-long skills and helping them fulfil their potential.
To do so, we will:
• Support local economies and communities by employing locally where possible,
• Offer Apprenticeship and Graduate Programmes to help people gain meaningful skills and work experience with the potential for long-term employment, and
• Offer employment and training opportunities to disadvantaged groups such as ex-service persons and ex-offenders, including a commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.
"CRL is committed to building an organisation that is inclusive and makes full use of the talents, skills, experience, and different cultural perspectives available in a multi-ethnic and diverse society, and where people feel they are respected and valued, and can achieve their full potential regardless of race, colour, nationality, national or ethnic origins, sexual orientation, gender, disability or age."
Fairness, Inclusion, Diversity & Respect
CRL’s most important asset is its people and CRL's management put great importance on the need for people to be treated fairly. CRL want to be seen as an inclusive company who employ the best people with a workforce which represents our diverse society.
This means we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where all employees are valued and respected; an environment which nurtures the talents, skills, experience and perspectives our employees bring.
It also means recognising barriers to employment – both within our organisation and within the industry as a whole – and working to overcome them. It is important that nobody faces discrimination or limited opportunities to achieve their full potential regardless of their race, colour, nationality, national or ethnic origins, region, sexual orientation, gender, disability or age. We are committed to building a better future for all.
To demonstrate the importance CRL place on FIR the regional Culture Safety days in 2019 were centred around Fairness Respect and Inclusion. All employees attended the days spread around the 4 regions. A combination of outside and internal speakers provided inspirational talks on Inclusion, Fairness, Mental Health and behavioural Safety. Attendees entered into debate on the topics raised and joined in associated challenges (see above at the top of the page).
